Play Therapy
Children often express their thoughts, feelings, and behavior through play. We offer integrative play therapy with parental collaboration to support children aged 3+ in:
Understanding and expressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that they may not be able to express verbally
Learning and practicing healthy communication, social, problem-solving, and emotional and behavioral regulation skills
Working through stressful life events, traumatic experiences, or developmental challenges
In addition to traditional play therapy techniques, our providers are skilled at incorporating art therapy, sand tray work, movement-based therapies, and age-appropriate psychoeducation.
At Understanding Minds, we believe that routine collaboration with parents and caregivers is an essential component of effective therapy. We take pride in partnering with parents to identify goals, assess progress, coordinate support strategies, and celebrate successes. Our administrative team will discuss your needs and preferences for collaboration as part of the initial scheduling process.
